Making your home feel like home is one of the most exciting things you’ll do — and quietly, one of the most overwhelming. There are 200 cushions to choose from at Dunelm alone. Pinterest serves up a different aesthetic every week. Every retailer says they have the perfect throw. You spend a Saturday browsing and end the day no closer to a sofa.
Hearth & Hush is the cosy home guide we wish we’d had when we started — a careful, ad-free editorial focused on the warm-nude lane: cream, beige, mocha, oak, brass. The textures and tones that age beautifully. The pieces worth buying once. The retailers we’d actually order from. Made for the women turning a flat or a house into somewhere that genuinely feels like theirs — on real budgets, in real spaces, and with no patience for pretending.
What you’ll find here
Every week, one of:
- Curated edits — usually 10-20 pieces under a price cap, drawn from the UK retailers we trust most for warm-nude home (The White Company, Cox & Cox, Dunelm, Etsy, Piglet in Bed, Wayfair UK, John Lewis, Marks & Spencer)
- Buying guides — how to choose a throw blanket, a side table, a candle, a rug. The questions no one answers in the product description.
- Trend explainers — what’s actually worth buying into in 2026, what’s quietly fading, what ages well over decades
- Seasonal resets — the autumn refresh, the Christmas edit, the January reset, the spring lightening
The promises
We won’t:
- Pad a roundup with pieces we wouldn’t buy ourselves
- Use “ultimate” or “must-have” or “you NEED this” — those are content-mill words
- Recommend a higher-commission option over a better one
- Run banner ads, pop-ups, or auto-playing video
- Write a single word for SEO that we wouldn’t say out loud
We will:
- Tell you what to skip as honestly as what to buy
- Flag the difference between “splurge worth it” and “wait for the sale”
- Show you when a £30 cushion is genuinely as good as the £80 version
- Update old posts when prices or stock change, rather than leaving stale recommendations
Why this site exists
I’m Eliza Wren — a young mum in the Midlands, a first-time buyer, and a quiet obsessive about classic home design. I started Hearth & Hush after months of researching my own dream home and finding the existing home-decor blogs either lifeless and AI-padded, or aimed at women with budgets that don’t reflect real life.
This is what I wanted to read: an honest, considered guide written by someone going through it too — and somewhere I could share what I’d learnt along the way, so the women trying to make their own homes warmer and more considered had a friend who’d already spent six weekends scrolling Cox & Cox.
Whether you’re in a rental that came with magnolia walls, a first place of your own, or somewhere in between — if you want a home that feels like yours, you’re in the right place.
How we make decisions
A piece earns its way into Hearth & Hush only if:
- It feels genuinely cosy — the texture, the weight, the considered design that brings real warmth to a room. Warm-nude is our editorial lane, but cosy comes in forest green, dusty blue, terracotta, mustard and more — and we’ll feature any palette that earns its place
- It’s available from a UK retailer with a reasonable returns policy
- The price reflects honest value (and we’ll always say which is splurge vs. wait-for-sale)
- We’d buy it ourselves — or recommend it to a friend who would
If a retailer’s commission ever conflicts with our editorial honesty, we drop the partnership before we bend the writing. The trust is the whole asset.
How we’re paid
Hearth & Hush is free, ad-free, and reader-funded through affiliate commissions. When you click through to a retailer and buy something, the retailer pays us a small percentage — at no extra cost to you. It’s how we keep the site honest, the pop-ups gone, and the writing focused on what’s actually worth your money.

For press, partnerships, brand collaborations, or reader letters: hello@hearthandhush.co.uk
We read everything. Real life means we don’t always reply within a week, but we read everything.
For PR: we don’t accept payment for inclusion. We’ll review samples sent for editorial consideration, and we’ll always disclose when a piece was sent to us, but the editorial decision stays with us.
